Years ago, after achieving my degree in Marine Biology on the East Coast I was invited to come to Utah for skiing. My first thought was, “Where is Utah?”. Upon arriving, I fell in love with the tranquility and majestic surroundings of Mount Timpanogos and recalled driving through Heber City trying to avoid hitting cows along the way.
I quickly found the passion in restoration of older homes in the Avenues of Salt Lake City, Utah. From there I headed to Rancho Sante Fe, California to continue restoring older forgotten homes.
My heart still wanted the peaceful feelings of Utah, so my wife, Jacqueline, and I decided to head back. On the way we stopped in Wickenburg, Arizona, so she could do some work for an oil company. With time on my hands, I took to exploring. I soon found myself in a trailer park looking at a 1963 Globetrotter Airstream with a “for sale” sign in the window. It was in great disrepair and used for storage but I could see the potential in that shabby grey trailer and I left that day with my first Airstream in tow.
