We have heard from our customers time and time again that when they bought their trailer, the seller assured them that "everything works".

The only way to truly "learn" about full time travel is to actually do it. You can log countless hours of research to the point of insanity, but there is no substitute for experience.

Now this post could turn into a book really fast, so I'm going to try to touch on what I feel to be very important for those who are considering travelling full time, or even extended travel periods, in a trailer or RV.

Why would you choose a 40 year old trailer to buy? We've been asked this and it is quickly answered in one word, Airstream.

I have to admit that when we first decided to go on the road full time, I wasn't on board with buying an Airstream. (Don't tell anyone;) My wife Lisa, on the other hand, has loved them since she was young. Being that we were branding a business as well as changing our lifestyle, in the end, it was the right choice.

Hello everyone! My name is Josh Wood, and I'm excited to be a guest blogger for VARR. First things first, an introduction of my family. We are a family of four that have been full time living in our 1976 Sovereign 31' Airstream for coming up on 10 months. My wife Lisa is a freelance photographer, and is also the Social Media Coordinator for VARR. We have two boys, Beckham, age 5, and Graham, age 3.

1950 was a wholesome time in America and 1950 was a pivotal time for innovation.

Unique ideas were popping up all over, but as fast as a unique niche surfaced another moment of genius rose its head. By taking common materials from World War II, the travel industry specifically aluminum trailers, invented a hotel room on wheels.

Ever since Airstream started their trailer production business in 1931, many trailers have traveled the world and experienced all the different weather conditions. Each weather condition has a different effect on the trailers and the exterior aluminum skin that makes them so iconic. One of the drawbacks of course is the difficulty to keep each aluminum window water tight.

We are hearing more and more about Airstreamers using or being interested in using foam insulation for their Airstream restorations. While it could be a great option, if applied improperly, can be quite a disaster. Also keep in mind future repairs. To get to the area to repair you have to dig out the foam insulation, and most likely refill it with regular insulation.
